The Littleton League of NH Craftsmen Gallery will celebrate its 10th Birthday at an all-day Open House on Saturday, November 22, from 10am to 6pm.
The Gallery first opened its doors on November 20, 2004, with owner Jeff Wheeler and Co-Managers Beth Simon and Michele Allison, and staff member Jody Blaney. The Gallery has grown to representing the work of nearly 200 of NH’s finest craftspeople, and is part of one of the premier crafts organizations in the country.
The festivities will include a double-toast to Beth Simon, who took over ownership of the Gallery this past April, and who was recently juried into the League as a craftsperson in metal jewelry.
Over the years the Gallery has offered classes, artist demonstrations, and “Meet The Artist” events. It was instrumental in founding the Littleton Studio School, located on Mill St. behind the Gallery, which offers classes in pottery, jewelry and mixed media to people of all ages and levels of experience.
The Open House will include demonstrations by League jeweler Deb Fairchild in making beaded ornaments, and artist/staff member Kristine Lingle showing how to make and use handmade paste paper. There will also be a raffle and prizes, yummy food and birthday cake.
This is a perfect time to get a jump on holiday shopping, and to make a personal wish list to give to family members.
The League of NH Craftsmen is the oldest crafts organization in the country. It was founded in 1932 to help artisans market their handwork during the great Depression. Currently over 600 artists have earned juried membership by meeting the League’s rigorous standards for craft-making excellence. The Littleton Gallery is one of seven League Galleries around the state.
The Gallery is located at 81 Main St., on the lower level. Everyone is welcome! For more information call .
